Ragn-Sells at Häradsudden invested in 120 kW of electricity production
Background
Häradsudden landfill in Norrköping is owned by Ragn-Sells Avfallsbehandling AB. Häradsudden is one of Sweden’s largest waste management facilities and receives most types of waste for handling, treatment, and recycling. The site already had two gas turbines producing electricity from part of the recovered landfill gas. To increase the overall electrical efficiency of the facility, Ragn-Sells chose to collaborate with Againity and invest in a containerized combined plant including a gas boiler and an ORC turbine. The ORC turbine is supplied with heat from both the hot water produced by the gas boiler and the waste heat from the two gas turbines.
Vår lösning
Againity delivered a complete containerized solution including a gas boiler and an automated ORC system for electricity production with a maximum capacity of 120 kW. The ORC system can utilize thermal energy from the existing gas turbines by converting heat from the exhaust stack into electricity. When sufficient landfill gas is available, the gas boiler starts automatically and produces hot water for the ORC system, generating additional electricity. Ragn-Sells has signed a service agreement with Againity to ensure long lifetime and minimal maintenance.
