Eskilstuna Strängnäs Energi och Miljö (ESEM)

Background

The district heating plant in Eskilstuna is owned by Eskilstuna Strängnäs Energi och Miljö AB (ESEM), which invested in a new 3 MW solid-fuel-fired hot water boiler. In connection with this, ESEM chose to complement the installation with an ORC turbine from Againity to reduce operating costs and become virtually self-sufficient in electricity.

Our solution

Againity delivered an automated ORC system with a maximum capacity of 99.9 kW of electricity production. The ORC system enables electricity generation from the hot water produced by the boiler. Eskilstuna Strängnäs Energi och Miljö has chosen to sign a service agreement with Againity to ensure a long lifespan and minimal maintenance.
