Background

Gullarpsverket in Osby, owned by Osby Municipality, currently supplies heat to four hundred connected properties in the urban area of Osby. As part of its environmental efforts and to reduce operating costs, the district heating plant installed an ORC turbine at its existing biomass-fired boiler.

Our solution

Againity delivered an automated ORC system with a maximum capacity of 99.9 kW of electricity production. The ORC system enables electricity generation from the hot water produced by the boiler. In total, the system is expected to produce 412 MWh annually, corresponding to emission savings of 317 tonnes of CO₂ equivalents when replacing European marginal electricity. Osby Municipality has chosen to sign a service agreement with Againity to ensure a long lifespan and minimal maintenance.
