Kils Energi

Kils Energi

Background

The district heating plant in Kil, owned by Kils Energi, currently operates four heat production facilities. Their largest plant, with a capacity of 9 MW, is located at the recycling center in the Lersätter industrial area and primarily uses shredded wood waste, mainly sourced from local residents in Kil. To reduce operating costs, Kils Energi chose to invest in an ORC turbine from Againity.

Our solution

Againity delivered an automated ORC system with a maximum capacity of 500 kW of electricity production. The ORC system enables electricity generation from the hot water produced by the boiler. Kils Energi has chosen to sign a service agreement with Againity to ensure a long lifespan and minimal maintenance.
