Sölvesborgs Energi och Vatten AB
Background
The district heating plant in Sölvesborg, owned by Sölvesborgs Energi och Vatten (SEVAB), is largely based on waste heat from the Sylvamo (formerly Stora Enso) paper mill outside Bromölla. In connection with an investment in a new 6 MW boiler plant from AKJ Energiteknik AB, the plant chose to equip the facility with an ORC turbine. The investment not only reduces electricity and grid costs but also helps the operation become more climate-neutral and increases baseload power in electricity price area 4.
Our solution
Againity delivered a containerized and automated ORC system with a maximum capacity of 400 kW of electricity production. The ORC system enables electricity generation from the hot water produced by the boiler.
