TEMAB, Fjärrvärme Tierp

TEMAB, Fjärrvärme Tierp

Background

The district heating plant in Tierp, owned by TEMAB, has undergone modernization in recent years. The company invested in two ORC turbines that utilize hot water from two biomass-fired boilers with capacities of 4 MW and 6 MW, respectively. This initiative not only enables electricity production at the plant but also contributes to increased local baseload power in the municipality.

Our solution

Againity delivered two automated ORC systems, each with a maximum capacity of 99.9 kW of electricity production. The ORC systems enable electricity generation from the hot water produced by the boilers. In total, the systems are expected to produce 974 MWh annually, corresponding to emission savings of 877 tonnes of CO₂ equivalents when replacing European marginal electricity.
