Tibro, Nevel AB

Background

The district heating plant in Tibro is owned by Nevel AB, which currently operates more than 40 district heating networks across Finland, Sweden, and Estonia. In Tibro, the facility consists of a biomass boiler using locally sourced fuel from Swedish forests. The installation of the ORC system supports Nevel’s sustainability goals, including a focus on renewable energy and reduced carbon emissions. With this investment, Nevel in Tibro achieves its own supply of green, fossil-free electricity while also supporting the local power grid.

Our solution

An automated ORC system with a maximum capacity of 99.9 kW of electricity production was delivered by Againity. The ORC system enables electricity generation from the hot water produced by the biomass boiler. In total, the system is expected to produce 560 MWh annually, corresponding to 504 tonnes of CO₂ equivalents when replacing European marginal electricity.
