Gislaved heating plant, Sweden

Gislaved heating plant, Sweden

Background:

Gislaved Energi AB operates the district heating plant in Mossarp, which consists of a wood chip-fired 5 MW hot water boiler. To reduce their internal electricity costs and at the same time take a step in a climate-smart direction, Gislaved Energi AB chose to invest in an ORC turbine that enables sustainable and local electricity production.

Our solution:
Againity delivered an automated ORC system with a maximum capacity of 200 kW electricity production. The ORC system enables electricity production from the boiler’s hot water. In total, the system is expected to produce 770 MWh electricity annually, corresponding to annual emission savings of 690 tonnes of CO2 equivalents when substituting coal-based electricity. Gislaved Energi AB has chosen to sign a service agreement with Againity to ensure a long service life and minimal maintenance.
